Travel Photography - The Basics
Travelling whether locally or abroad presents opportunity for taking unique photographs, for putting in picture and bringing with you things and scenes of places you rarely see or never usually see at home, in your own country. However, taking a good photo during travel is never an easy feat. But, here are few tips to help you create the must stunning travel photos.
Get up early in the morning. The best light is the one you will see in a sunny morning, usually before ten A.M. The sun rise can give your photo object a unique glow and character.
Go closer. Do not shoot every thing from distance or with the lens set to infinity. Get a little closer at your object; this will reveal features, details and contours, which are rather interesting. When seeing a big Buddha statue, for instance, you might be tempted to take shot of its whole body. You might be missing a good shot if you focus on the whole. Shot closer, it can reveal interesting information about the object or the place.
Get angles. Do not just shoot at eye levels; try to experiment with the angles. Angles can give your subject a character. Photo of buildings taken from a lower angle for instance will give it a look of being big and powerful. While from high angle, you are making it less imposing, much smaller.
Experiment with your camera. Do not keep your camera in program all the time or you could be missing the chance to take great images. Try shooting in slow shutter speed for creative blur.
Do not forget people. People are among the most important subjects of travel photography because. A place is much about people and culture as it is about scenery.
